Harper



HARPER, an 11 year old girl's life is shattered when her father dies suddenly. Sent to live on a dilapidated farm with an Aunt she’s never met, Harper must adjust to her new reality. However, just as she settles in, ISABELLA, her wealthy mother, appears to claim the child she abandoned at birth.


Kate Bohan is an award-winning Chinese- American writer, director, and producer of American cinema. Kate is a member of the Los Angeles Writers' Association and Film Fatales. Kate was born and raised in China and is a proud graduate of China broadcasting university of the journalism -where she received her BFA in News anchor. She moved to LA in 1998. There here she had Kayla, her daughter. She felt blessed when Kayla told her that she wanted to become an actress. Inspired by Kayla's dream, she studied filmmaking nonstop and discovered it was no longer just her daughter’s dream, but her own new passion.


She wrote and directed the short film Kayla's World (2016), which won her Best Screenplay Award and several Best Director Awards in different film festivals. In 2018, her debut feature film Kayla (2020) that she also worked with famous American Actor Joe Estevev received multi-awards and national recognition from a number of prestigious film festivals and competitions for her outstanding screenwriting and directing skills. In 2021, she wrote, directed, and produced her second feature film, "Harper." which was released at the end of 2021 and ran for the 94th Oscar. "Harper" also won Gold Remi Award at the 55th Houston international film Festival, and is set for a summer 2022 release date. When not working, she enjoys surfing, singing, and traveling.
